"There are always three characters… including in "The High Fall of Your Body" which was first produced at the Little City Theatre "Off the Channel". As many as the sparse language of a poem could enfold. In these equilateral triangles Elin Rahnev usually locks in an accessible plot. And - if retold simply - it might even sound banal… But over this quite unpretentious skeleton layers and layers of life have been plastered, and tangled mazes of human fates. Everything about them is equivocal, ambiguous, contradicting. The murderer (Valentin Tanev) is attracted to death, he seeks it as salvation. The investigator (Vassilena Atanassova) stays alive as serving a life sentence. The interrogation seems to be between the author and the literary editor. The two pore over each and every word, they clarify the plot and reveal the meaning. And the actual crime is left as a background and as something of much less significance.

"Hungerrustler consists of two separate words - hunger and artist, a man of art. Even before philosophers announced the death of God, Kafka foretold through the destiny of his Master of Hunger the death of art as an exclusive gift of God. Living in an age which - compared to Kafka's regards itself to be of the New testament, we could not but quote the prophecies of Franz K. when we wish to describe what is happening to the Artist per date."
