"The director's work stands out with its balance, fineness and irony.
To which end the playful music of Kiril Donchev also contributes, as well
as the stylish set and costumes by Radina Bliznakova, but especially due to
the excellent partnership of Ivan Petrushinov, Itzhak Fintzi and Stefan Iliev.
Young Irini Jambonas gives the best performance in the role of innocent Vive,
the extremely feminist daughter of "madam". She reveals herself
to us with utmost thoroughness - she is both playful and grave, both a young
girl of high morality and an infantile young woman. Realizing the truth about
her mother the character refuses to enter her hypocritical world. Central
to the performance is her break from any normal human relationships. Further
emphasis is placed on the knot between Mrs. Warren and her daughter. It is
the second time in ten years that we see the partnership of two actresses
playing the strong though corrupt mother and the innocent if ambitious daughter."

"Leon Daniel's production is a tense and meaningful discussion on truth
and lies, established secrets and their concealing, the ambitions of women
in a society as structured as hypocritically benevolent it may be
Ilka
Zafirova
plays this excellently written role
with a sense of detail,
of gesture and intonation. As for Izhak Finzi (Prade), Stefan Iliev (the Priest),
Ivan Petrushinov (Kroft) and Stoyo Mirkov (Frank) collectively create the
image of a society where everything is for sale and everything has a price.
Even Vivian, played memorably and with determination by Irini Jambonas, though
contradicting, still manages to find her place in this cruel picture

"Nobody
is right in this confused day of ours, when theatre is merely a badge on the
state's lapel
The director admits that the reason for this revisit of
the play is Ilka Zafirova. The actress has not been involved as lead in any
substantial dramatic classical work and the theatre had been looking for something
suitable for her to remind of her incredible talent. And indeed it does shine
at its full, especially against the somewhat overdone crescendo of otherwise
talented Irini Jambonas in the role of the rebellious feminist daughter. Ilka
Zafirova is masterfully partnered by Ivan Petrushinov (a ruthless and totally
supercilious aristocrat, the mother's associate in the business of pimping)
and especially by Izhak Finzi with his refined, masterly balanced, gentlemanly
presence."
